Andrew J. "A.J." Ford, 62, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. Mr. Ford was a veteran who enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1966 and served in Vietnam in a Marine Corps aviation unit. He was awarded the Air Medal with 2 bronze stars for heroism and Combat Aircrew Wings with 3 bronze stars. He later enlisted in the Army where he worked in the nuclear weapons field. He was very charitable in veteran and animal rescue organizations.
Survivors include wife, Kathy Ford; son, Andrew James Ford and wife, Robin, of Huntsville; and one grandchild on the way.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Green officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
