Memorial services for Dewey DeCleo Adair, 94, of George were held Monday in Evangelical United Methodist Church, George, with interment June 13 in Redding Cemetery, Redding.

He died Saturday, May 2,1992, in his home. Mr. Adair was born May 30, 1898, in Redding. He grew up on the family farm south of Redding and attended Redding schools. He graduated from Simpson College in Indianola in 1925 with a bachelor's degree in education and commerce. After graduation he taught business courses in the high schools of Kemmerer, Lander and Gillette, Wyoming, spending the summers working as a bookkeeper for Eaton's Dude Ranch near
Sheridan, Wyoming.

In 1929 he moved to Chicago where he worked for the Blackstone and Drake hotels. In 1933 he accepted a teaching position at Proviso Township High School in Maywood, Illinois, where he served for over- 30 years. In 1938 he earned a master's degree in business at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.
On December 24, 1929, he married Margaret Galloway in Chicago. In October, 1967, after retiring from teaching, they moved to George. His wife died in 1982. In 1985 he married Bonnie (Moser) Kennegieter.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dr. John of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Robert of Rifle, Colorado; one daughter, Mrs. Gene (Kathleen) Dochnahl of George, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
