He also enlisted in Harrisburg August 31, 1864, mustered into federal service there September 5 as 1st sergeant of Co. G, 208th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company June 1, 1865.
Lewis and his wife Mary Jane also had the following children
Henry Milton born 01 Sept 1866 - Charles Lewis born 1868 - Lizzie Jane and her twin Philip born 10 April 1872. Philip died some time after his birth. Lizzie married Hiram Wright. Their last child was Thomas Garfield born 04 December 1880.
