Medina Co. Gazette - Feb 8, 1884: While the hearts of the community still throbbed with the sense of regret and loss, the solemn funeral bell tolled out upon the winter air the years of an aged and esteemed citizen, Uncle Stephen Inman, who had been identified with Spencer and its interests for over fify years had been failing rapidly with lung difficulty, and Friday morning saw the close of his long and useful life.

He was a Deacon in the Free Will Baptist church, and was an early member of the Spencer FWB Church, and probably in the organization of the church. He was and active and esteemed member in its affairs and in his community. Two of his sons, Cyrus C. and David Inman, served from Ohio in the Union cause.
His son, Cyrus, became a minister/pastor in Michigan for awhile, where he attended Hillsdale College, then back to Medina Co. where he pastored.
In the 1850 Medina Co. Census, his HH consisted of:
