TIMOTHY McLEOD
Timothy McLeod, son of Thomas and Margaret Robson McLeod, was born June 30, 1877, at Binchester Cottages, Old Park, England, and departed from this life at his home in Chariton, Iowa, on August 29, 1941.
He was united in marriage to Emma Nichols on July 4, 1901. To this union two daughters were born, Alma, who preceded him in death on March 9, 1922, and Mrs. Margaret Harris, of Waterloo, Iowa.
Mr. McLeod came to America at the age of seven and has been a resident of Chariton for 30 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and daughter, a son-in-law and two granddaughters, Alma and Mary Harris. One brother, Thomas of Colfax, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Stobbart of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Lamar Gray, of Pittsburg, Kansas.
Mr. McLeod was a devoted husband and a loving father. He was very patient in his long illness and never complained. He is mourned by not only those of his immediate family, but by a host of other friends. During his long residence here he had won a host of friends by his upright dealings and his kind and generous nature.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Donald McKay, were held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
