Zach as he was called was born to Blake Baker and Sarah Elson Terry in Crittenden Co, KY. He was one of several children and married Ellen Frances Witherspoon Mar 30 1871. They were the parents of 5 children. After the death of Ellen, Zach married a second time to Amanda Brook McMican Clark.

Zach was a farmer and died from injuries caused by a mule dragging him over fields by trace Chains.


Zach's brother W T Terry married Ellen's sister Annie Witherspoon.
