The Rev. Clyde R. Gary

Funeral services for the Rev. Clyde R. Gary, 89, who died Wednesday at Care Inn Nursing Home after a brief illness, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pentecostal Church of God on Leflore Avenue.

The Rev. Gary was a native of Waco, Texas. He had lived in Greenwood for the past 22 years, retiring in 1969 as a minister in the Pentecostal Church of God. He served as an evangelist and pastor for 61 years.

Survivors Include his wife, Mrs. Dora Johnson Gary; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Ruth Dotson of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The Rev. O. Lawrence Perkins will officiate at the services, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Guiles. Burial will be in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery,

Pallbearers will be Zane Hodges, Woodrow Jones, David Wiggins, Billy Barefoot, Richard Turner, Gary Luckens and Granville Wiggins. Honorary pallbearers will be W.N. Baker, Carl Herring and the Rev. Bud Slaton.
