Edward Eugene Johnson, 82, went to meet the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heritage Baptist Church, 5100 Parliament Drive, Arlington, the Rev. George Newcomb officiating. Interment: 1:15 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home. Memorials: Donations may be made to Toys for Tots or the Salvation Army Angel Tree. Ed was born April 7, 1928, in Remer, Minn., to Celestine Michow Johnson and Walter Johnson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A devout Southern Baptist, Ed was married to his wife, Vivian for 62 years. Prior to moving to Arlington in 1985, Ed lived in Brownsville, Ore., for many years. He was a carpenter and paint contractor for most of his working career. Ed was a game fowl fancier and breeder. He loved God, family and country. Survivors: Wife, Vivian Bays Johnson; sons, Michael Johnson and wife, Tonya, Steven Johnson and wife, Sharie, Wayne Johnson and Edwina Mitchell; daughters, Teresa Wagnon and husband, Jim, Jenny Norland and husband, John, and Deanna Johnson; brother, David Johnson; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
