Imogene "Jean" Green, 79, passed away November 19, 2010, after an extended illness. She was born on May 4, 1931 to James Clarence and Effie Harris Harvey. She lived most of her life in Jacksonville until retiring in Middleburg, Florida. A native resident of Jacksonville, Florida, she was a devoted wife and mother who spent several years nurturing children in their development through childcare services. She had a great love of nature, horticulture, animals, and the shared love of gardening with her husband, ultimately enjoying the blessings and gifts of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jean was predeceased by her parents, a granddaughter, Jessica M. Green, and her brother, Clarence Earl Harvey. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, William C. Green, retired Bellsouth pioneer; daughter Brenda Merritt (Jeff), two sons, Gerald Green (JoAnn), and Wayne Green (Michele) of Plano, Texas; six grandchildren, Bryan Green (Stacy), Tyler Merritt, Jeffrey Merritt, Corey Green, Jill Green, Kayla Green, three step-grandchildren, Dara Grizzard (John), Kaleigh Merritt, Danielle Burgett (John), three great- grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 22, 2010 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted November 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
