Services for Elanza Brown, 91, of Rickman, will be Monday, March 8 at 2 p.m. in Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Brown died Saturday, March 6, 1999 at his home.

Born on Jan. 6, 1908 in Overton County , he was the son of the late Marion and Dovie Austin Brown.

He was a farmer and was retired from the Department of Transportation. He was a member of Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

His family includes his wife, Myrtle Eldridge Brown of Rickman; six sons and their wives, Melvin and Golda Brown of Rickman, Billy Joe and Janice Brown of Alabama, Ernest and Pam Brown of Crossville, Doug and Cornetta Brown of Hanging Limb, Danny and Joyce Brown of Franklin, and Donald and Heidi Brown of Rickman; four daughters and their husbands, Fannie Mae and Albert Harris of Cookeville, Joyce and Beecher Brown of Monterey, Janice and Bill Burks of Hilham, and Carol and Phill Dunn of Baxter; a brother, L.P. Brown of Anderson, Indiana; two sisters, Belle Harris of Monterey and Myrtle McDonald of Livingston; and 25 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by two sons, Owen Junior and Gary Carlos Brown; two brothers, Chamie and Cordell Brown; and three sisters, Ida Ray, Alpha Stamps and Omega Ledbetter. His grandsons will serve a pallbearers.

Rev. Gary Farris, Rev. Roy Harris and Faily McCowan will conduct the services.

Speck Funeral Home in Livingston is in charge of the arrangements.
