Gloria E. Roark, 87, rural Sumner, IL passed away Tuesday November 17, 2009 at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 18, 1921 in Emison, IN the daughter of Charles Edward and Esther B. (Cannon) Higgins. On December 15, 1940 she married Ancil Roark Sr. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2008.

She is survived by 3 sons: Ancil Roark Jr. and wife Patricia of Bridgeport, IL, Charles Roark and wife Stephanie of Sumner, IL, Terry Roark and wife Jerrie of Sumner, IL, 8 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Gloria retired after 34 years of driving a school bus for Sumner and Red Hill School Districts. She was also a housewife. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Emison, IN, and also attended the Sumner United Methodist Church. Gloria enjoyed camping and had been a member of the White Squirrel Camping Club. She enjoyed going to the Sumner Senior Citizens.

The funeral will be Thursday at 12:00pm at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is also Thursday from 10:00am until the service hour of 12:00pm.

Memorial donations may be given to the Sumner Senior Citizens.
