She was married in Cumberland to Eugene Hart who preceded her in death on July 14,1985. In addition to raising her family, Patsy worked for many years as Bingo Manager, served a term on the Tribal Council, spent several years as an Elder Advocate for the Tribe and was named 2010 Island City Woman of the Year.
She is survived by her children, Andrea Hart (Wynn Merrill), Darlene Hart of Cumberland, Victoria (Matt) Estebo of Cumberland, Eugene (Denise) Hart, Jr. of Cumberland, Christina Hart of Cumberland and Stephanie Hart of Cumberland; 23 grandchildren, Jackson, Annie Jo, Wendy Jo, Susie Lynn, James, Rosie, Nathan, Lucy, Michelle, Micaela, Christine, Matthew, Winter, Angeline, Aaron, Andrew, Nekola, Kara, Mercedes, Mauricio, Antonio, Simone and Tyler; 8 great grandchildren, Jackson, Jr., Jensen, Honeyann, Sunnyman, Mya, Sequoia, Aurora and Makaya; 4 sisters, Pauline Whiterabbit of Cumberland, Hazel (William) Hindsley of Cumberland, Georgette Garvin of Shakopee, MN and Joyce Long (Rodney Mallory), all of Cumberland; 1 brother, Louis Hart of Cumberland; 1 aunt, Miscobinayshii of Luck and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Patsy was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Gary, James, Ronald and Geno and 1 sister, Ramona J. Kasabin.
Funeral services will be (was) held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Maple Plain Tribal Center, rural Cumberland with Lee Staples officiating. Burial will be in Maple Plain Reserve Cemetery. Pallbearers are Neko Lowe, Nathan Hart, McAllen Garvin, Jay Christensen, Keith Hopinka, Erik Whiterabbit, Joe Long and Christopher Corbine. Honorary pallbearers are Jackson Merrill, William Hindsley, Rodney Mallory, Matthew Estebo and Wynn Merrill. Visitation will (was) beginning at 2:00 PM on Tuesday and from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Maple Plain Tribal Center.
