Mr. Byron LeRoy "Barney" Ward, 59, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and formerly of Clarksburg, died Sunday, May 13 at Englewood Hospital, Englewood, Fla. He was the husband of Irene Ola Morris Ward.

He was born Dec. 11,1930 in Boyds, a son of the late Arthur and Hazel A. Larman Ward.

He had been a member of the Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Co. since Oct. 3,1950, where he served as past president and honorary member.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Julia Barber and her husband, Cliff, of Port Charlotte, and Bonnie Sue Willard of Kennedyville; one son, Daniel L. Ward and his wife, Faye of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Shannon Barber, D. Joseph Willard III, Julie Willard, Jesse Ward and Michael Byron Ward; four brothers, Harry A. Ward of Port Charlotte, Forrest Tommy Ward of Clarksburg, Franklin Ward of Ijamsville and William Ward of Williamsport; one sister, Hazel C. Thum, of Eden, Ga.; one half brother, James W. Benson of Westminster, and one half sister, Virginia M. Yates of Barnesville.

Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 16 at the Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at the funeral home. Pastor James Hambey, Clarksburg Church of God. will officiate. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Montgomery County
Hospice, 6701 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase, Md. 20815. The fire company will conduct
memorial services at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
