Robert T. Vols, 76, of Moline, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where the Moline American Legion, Post 246, will conduct military honors. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Robert T. Vols was born Aug. 2, 1931, in Annawan, the son of Alphonse and Rachel Benoodt Vols.

He was employed in warehousing, at the Rock Island Arsenal for 35 years, retiring in 1986.

Robert was a veteran of the Army, having served during the Korean War, and a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and vintage cars.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Katherine Sue Taylor, Davenport, Julie Ann and Kevin Sneed, Moline, and Janet Lynn Roseman, Davenport; sons and daughter-in-law, Gregory Lee and Christy Vols, East Moline, and Gary Lee Vols, Moline; 10 grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Elsie Vols, Moline.
