Irving J. Toner was the son of Harold Percy and A. Louise (Nourse) Toner. He served in the US Army during World War II.

TONER.--Irving J. Toner, age 83, a pioneer in local cable television and an accomplished tennis player, died Friday (September 9, 1994) in the Wyoming County Nursing Facility. Born in 1911, he was the founder, owner and president of Warsaw Television Cable Company, which he established in 1967. He moved here in 1967 from East Aurora where he owned and operated Toner's Television and Radio Service. Toner was a member of the Silver Lake Country Club, the United Church of Warsaw and was a charter member of the American Theater Organ Society. He was a gold medalist in tennis with the United States Senior Olympics and was ranked in the top 10 of senior doubles players. He lived at 246 North Main Street, Warsaw. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania.
