Allene Rose Cline, 91, Carthage, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 at The Arbors of Silver Creek, Joplin, MO. Allene Rose Bedell was born January 12, 1919 in Jasper, MO, the daughter of Don Huff Bedell and Ula Pearl (Rice) Bedell. She attended jasper Public Schools and was a graduate of Jasper High School, Jasper, MO, Class of 1935. She married Raymond W. Cline on August 17, 1937 in Carthage, Raymond preceded her in death on January 16, 1999. She and her husband were owners of Cline's Welding Shop, Kendricktown, MO, since 1946. Allene was a member of the Kendricktown Methodist Church, involved with the Jasper County Extension Center and the Jolly Homemakers Club. She loved playing and being with her canasta card players. She was an accomplished seamstress while knitting and crocheting many treasured gifts. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn York, Olathe, Kansas; a son Gayle (Sandy) Cline, Carthage; four grandchildren, Robert York, Jr., James York, Michael Cline and Melynn Cline; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond, one brother, Clyde Bedell and one son-in-law, Bob York. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 1:45 P.M., Tuesday, November 23, at Knell Mortuary, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 P.M. in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
