H. T. Atchison, 33, and "Bula" Atchison, 22, are recorded in the 1895 Pottawatomie Township, Coffey County, Kansas state census with their son Henry, age 3. This family resided in Reeder Township, Anderson County, Kansas in the 1900 census. Beulah is recorded as the mother of 3, all living. Although transcribed as George H. on Ancestry, the father and head of the family is clearly recorded as “Troupe H.” Atchison, age 38, born in Kentucky. Three sons are recorded with them, Henry, 8; Fredrick, 4, & Merl (Murrel) 1.

Fred and his two brothers are recorded with their maternal grandparents in the 1905 Ottumwa, Coffey County, Kansas state census. They resided with their mother and their uncle, Charles Bell, in the 1910 Rock Creek Township, Coffey County, Kansas census. Their mother is recorded as the head of the family in the 1915 Lincoln, Osage County, Kansas state census, but they are recorded next to Charles Bell and N. F. Atchison. (Nannie F. (nee Jones) Atchison, who married Rolla A. Atchison)

Fred Irven Atchison filed his W W II draft registration as a resident of Pomona in Franklin County, Kansas. He listed Waverly, Kansas as his birth place and February 15, 1895 as his birth date.

The death date and burial location of Fred’s father are not yet known. He is recorded as “Troop” Atchison, age 8, with Elizabeth Atchison, 48, in the 1870 Fleming County, Kentucky census. They resided in Key West Township, Coffey County, Kansas by 1880. Censuses show that Troop was a brother of John W. Atchison, # 63940866. ------"Throope" Atchison remarried in 1912 in Jackson County, Missouri. He is recorded with his wife, Mattie, in the 1920 Cass County, Missouri census. His step-daughter, Ida Endicott, 18, is also recorded, as well as their son, Arthur or James Arthur, age 6. (memorial # 34136192 )

The mother of H. T. or Troop, Troupe, or Throope Atchison, was Elizabeth Armstrong, who married Henry Atchison in 1841 in Fleming County, Kentucky. (Kentucky marriage index) They are recorded in the 1850 census in Bath County, Kentucky with 4 children, ages 7 - 1. The 1860 census in the same county shows them with 6 children. She remarried to Daniel Coleman Jones in December of 1880. (Coffey County, Kansas marriage index & U. S. & International Marriages Index) They are recorded together in the 1885 Key West, Coffey County, Kansas state census. D. C. Jones is buried in Coffey County, Kansas with his first wife. Ancestry family information records the death of Elizabeth (nee Armstrong) Atchison, then Jones, in 1895 at Osawatomie, Kansas.
