Funeral services for Marjorie Lammey Squyres, 75, of Lufkin will be held Monday, July 18, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Hazell officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Squyres was born Jan. 6, 1930 in Sardis, Miss., to Ruth (Bush) and A. E. Lammey, and died Saturday, July 16, 2005 in a local hospital. She resided in Lufkin for most of her life.

Mrs. Squyres, a retired purchaser for Woody's Toys, was very active in the Republican Party for years. She also was instrumental in organizing the Lufkin Band Boosters. Mrs. Squyres was baptized as a Baptist in her youth and joined the Methodist Church as an adult. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lufkin.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Ralph Squyres of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Jerry Quarles of Jefferson City, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Sally Squyres of Lufkin; son, Trent Squyres of Lufkin; grandsons and wives, Scott Rushing, Michael and Kim Lazarine, Matthew and Sarah Lazerine, Paul Squyres, Mark Squyres; great-granddaughter, Emily Lazerine; brother, Perry Lammey of Greenville, Miss.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Squyres was preceded in death by a brother, Luddie Lammey and a sister, Betty Kinzer.

Pallbearers for her service will be her nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lufkin High School Band Alumni Association, 415 Trailwood Circle, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
