Matthew H. Stark, 85, an old time resident died Sunday from asthma and dropsy complicatons. He had been living alone in the Corliss Block on Lincoln Avenue west. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having served in Company E Ninth Minnesota which saw service both in the west and south.

He has made his home in this city for perhaps 30 years or more and was a quiet, likeable man who lived pretty much by himself.

He is survived by one son, who lives in (Canyon County) Idaho and one daughter living at Kasota, (Le Sueur County) MN. Both have been notifed and the daughter will arrive tomorrow but the son wires that he is unable to come on account of illness.

The funeral will occur at 2 o'clock tomorrow, Tuesday afternoon, from M. Benson's undertaking parlors, Rev. Elmer E. Shawl officiating and the remains will be laid at rest in Mt. Faith cemetery.
