Lavina Lane was born Jan 28, 1843 in Nauvoo, Illinois, the eldest child of William West & Mariah Burr (Clark) Lane. William was to lead a wagon train of Mormons to the Salt Lake valley, but both he and Mariah died of cholera just a few days into the trip. Lavina and her 4 little sisters continued to Utah with their older half siblings including the eldest Davis Clark. Lavina died Nov 5, 1853 in Springville, Utah.
