Burial was in the West Cemetery of the Fairview Community of Putnam County.
Mrs. Miller died on Friday, December 12, 2008 in the Masters Health Care Center in Algood.
Born September 18, 1924 in Pocahontas, AR, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ernest and Eva (Dawson) Riggs. Mrs. Miller and her late husband, Grover Miller, were founders of Larco Medical in Cookeville and formerly owned the Troy Building Supply in Troy, MI. She was a charter member of the One Eleven Fellowship in Cookeville, and a Charter member of the Ten Mile Freewill Baptist Church in Madison Heights, MI.
She was a gifted teacher and speaker of the Gospel in various churches in Michigan and Tennessee. She loved to talk about the Lord. What a special time of the year for this special angel to be called home. She is truly celebrating Christmas.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Eileen Dalton, Madeline Whiteaker and infant Ernestine Riggs.
Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Lana and Larry Pratt of Sparta, and Susan and Tim McAleer of Macomb, MI; 6 grandchildren, Randy (Shelia) Chaffin, Jr., Roxanne (Kevin) Thompson, Richard (Angela) Chaffin, Chris (Alise) McAleer, Michael (Alisa) McAleer and Ryan McAleer; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Bea Riggs of MO, Lehman and Jean Riggs of Cookeville, Jim and Pat Riggs of Warren, MI and Dwight and Cathy Riggs of Columbia, SC; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Lena Mitchner of WI, Betty Jo and Claude Mullins of Cookeville, and Dorothy and John Bugbee of Crossville.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
