BEGG Thomas Kirk Begg II, age 78, of Trumbull, died Sunday, January 26, 2003, in his home. Born in Bridgeport, he resided in Trumbull and Falls Village for the past 50 years. Mr. Begg attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. and Wesleyan University in Middletown. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 86th Blackhawk Division during World War II, earning a Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman Badge and many medals for having served in the European Theater and the Philippine Islands. Thomas was the co-founder of Begg Co., Inc. and founder and president of Kirk Products Co., Inc., both of Bridgeport. He was a member of the 86th Blackhawk Division Association, a life member of the Nichols Fire Department, longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Nichols, where he was past superintendent of the Sunday School, a member of the Corinthian Lodge 104 AF & AM, a member of the Canaan-Falls Village Historical Society, treasurer of the Heart Beats, Inc. at Bridgeport Hospital since 1985 and past president of the Canaan Pine Grove Association in Falls Village. Survivors include his beloved wife, Joan Farist Penfield Begg; two sons, Thomas Kirk Begg III and his wife, Joanne, of Stratford, and Bruce Farist Begg of Trumbull; a brother, James L. Begg of Bridgeport; and five grandchildren.
