Mrs. Sarah Ella Buck Beckum, widow of the late Jefferson D. Beckum, entered into rest at 7:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, 1945, at the residence in Blythe, Georgia, after an illness of ten days. Funeral services will be conducted at Blythe Methodist Church Saturday morning at 11 o'clock with the Rev. H.G. Gaddy, assisted by the Rev. A.E. Scott, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be T.M. Nickles, Walt Nickles, R.K. Hood, Harper Trowbridge, F.H. Turner and Paul Templeton. A lifelong resident of Richmond county, Mrs. Beckum is survived by four sons, Arthur F. Beckum of Wrens, Ga., Doyle F. Beckum and J.L. Beckum, both of Augusta and C.G. Beckum of Waynesboro, Ga.; four daughters, Mrs. C.C. Wallace of Blythe, Mrs. L.W. Cawley of Sparta, Ga., Mrs. R.H. Matthews and Mrs. L.E. McLelland, both of Blythe; 19 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. May Beckum and Mrs. Virginia Luke, both of Augusta. Elliott Sons.
