Lieutenant Colonel John Gordon Boyanowski was living in Harrisburg, PA when he entered the service and was a member of Headquarters, Military Assistance Command, Vietnam.
On December 14, 1971, he was a passenger in a Beech Ute Utility Aircraft (U-21A) on a flight from Phu Bai to Da Nang, South Vietnam. The aircraft lost one of its engine, caught fire and crashed. His remains were never recovered.
His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
