Howard Henry Garren, 85, of Danville, formerly of Peoria, died at 10:35 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005, at VA Illiana Healthcare System in Danville.
He was born July 28, 1919, in Galesburg to Frank Thomas and Stella Diefendorf Garren.
Surviving are one daughter, Janet (and Danny) Ballard of Peoria; one son, Alvin of Palm Coast, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He worked in construction before retiring.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Danville National Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded.
There will be no visitation.
