~ N.S. Pilcher passed from this life at St. Joseph hospital at Concordia, April 13, the funeral services were held at the Courtland opera house afternoon of April 16. There was not sufficient room in the building to accommodate the large number that gathered in honor of the deceased, the I.O.O.F. of which he was an honored member, had representatives from all the neighboring lodges present; the floral tributes were many and beautiful. Funeral services were conducted by Elders Bond of Concordia, Parks of Formoso and Bowling of Burr Oak. Odd Fellow ritualistic service was used at the grave. Interment was in Courtland cemetery. The entire community is grieving with the wife, son, mother and other relatives.-Courtland Journal.
