Lucy died at the residence of Sam Mellen,
in Norway Twp., on Nov 22, 1889. Miss
Mellen was 69 years 3 months and 2 days.
Miss Lucy was afflicted for some nineteen
Years with a paralytic stroke, and had
been an invalid all these years. Last
August she had a "bad spell" but came
through with her vital forces considerably
weakened. It was this old trouble, that
caused her death. The remains were buried
in the "Dutton Family Cemetery" in Cloud
county, Rev. Manshardt preached the
funeral sermon.
