INSCRIPTION ON GRAVESTONE - Daughter of Jacob and Sarah Yocum

INFORMATION & RESEARCH ON ELIZABETH YOCUM SCHELL was included in the book - SCHELL FAMILY - PIONEERS OF MISSOURI by Gayle Foster - available on Amazon.com

GRANDPARENTS OF ELIZABETH YOCUM -
SARAH'S PARENTS - Many have tried to find PROOF of the last name of Sarah, wife of Jacob Yocum, but no primary source documents have been found to my knowledge. Someone on Ancestry has added Cherokee ancestors with Cherokee names as her parents, but when asked for his sources, he hasn't shared - Without PROOF (primary source documents) this remains an unproven THEORY. We know that Henry and Elizabeth's children did not remember their names of Sarah's parents, because they did not include them on the Guion-Miller applications that they completed in 1907, when they made a claim for funds from the federal government for reparations to Eastern Cherokees.
YOCUM FAMILY - The Yocum family was extensively researched for many years and a book was published in 2008 that detailed this research - THE LIVES AND LEGENDS OF THE OZARK YOAKUMS, Westward Migration from Pennsylvania to the Ozarks and Beyond, by Audrey Lee Clouston-Becker, Author and Marilyn Jean Jackson-Pfitzner, Editor, pub. 2008 by Arkansas Research, Inc. Conway, AR. Research was contributed by several family researchers.
