NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS. Many of the older settlers of Lorain county will be pained to hear of the death of Mr. William Howk, who for 38 years has resided in Wellington. His death was very sudden, many in town not knowing that he was sick. He attended the dedication exercises on Thursday, April 3d, and died Monday morning, April 7th, of congestion of the lungs. Mr. Howk was 77 years old, was one of the oldest and most popular members of the Methodist Church; he was Justice of the Peace for many years; was an exceedingly kind hearted and generous man; he was always ahead, in every good work and ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His works will live after him. His funeral occurred on Wednesday.--Oberlin News.
