Kenneth H. Farris, 74, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 14, 1935, in Liberty, Mo., to the Rev. Fred H. Farris and Vera Standley Farris.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Rosemary Spittal Farris; a son, David Farris of Alabama; two daughters, Deanne Farris, and Kelly Rost and her husband Steve, all of Terre Haute; two brothers, James Farris and his wife Ruth of Marceline, Mo., and David Farris and his wife Cindy of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Louise Rhodes of Liberty, Mo., and Jeanne Hackworth and her husband John of Springfield, Mo.; four grandsons, Austin Stroot, Derek Stroot, Curtis Rost and Chad Rost; a great-grandson, Aidan Stroot; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fred S. Farris; and two nephews, Kenny Farris and Phil Rhodes.
Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Oregon Baptist Church, and was a retired salesman from Fuson Cadillac. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Dr.'s Ajay Deshpande, Camillo Mendoza, Primo Andres, and to Southern Care Hospice, and especially to our nurse Amy Coffey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th St., with the Rev. James Farris officiating. Burial will follow at Danville National Cemetery, in Danville, Ill.
