Services for Richard Velie Tompkins, 60, native of Dallas and City Auditor for the last 24 years, who died Sunday at his home, 433 East Jefferson, were held Monday at the Brewer Funeral Home. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery.
He was born in the family homestead at the northwest corner of Young and Browder in 1877. Son of Major and Mrs. R. V. Tompkins. Survived by his wife, one sister, and one brother.
