Mr. Potts was born at Sikeston on January 2, 1885 and attended the New Madrid county schools. He worked for the Cotton Belt railroad for several years and for 29 years worked for the Federal Compress company retiring about three years ago because of ill health.
On June 18, 1944, at Hayti, he was married to Mrs. Annie Milan, who survive. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Opal Harris of Glendale, Calif.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ruby Yount of St. Louis; a step-son, Willard Pierson of Irving, Texas; four brothers and two sisters; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
