George Struble, at 84; retired Florida banker
George H. Struble, 84, of Tower Hill Road, a retired lawyer and bank executive, died on Wednesday in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge.
He retired in 1974 as a trust officer and vice president of First National Bank in Ormond Beach, Fla. He had previously been an attorney in his family law firm of Struble and Struble in Toledo, Iowa.
Born in Toledo, he had lived in Daytona Beach, Fla., before moving to Brimfield two years ago.
He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran, and served as a pilot.
He was a member of the Ormond Beach Methodist Church.
He was a 32nd-Degree Mason in the Bloomington Lodge in Illinois.
His wife, Martha Hadacek, died in 1980.
He leaves four daughters, Mary Jean Anderson of Morris Plains, N.J., Ann Norris of Madison, Conn., Doris Podlasek, with whom he lived, and Lois Martin of Centerville, Va., and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday morning at Haigh-Black Funeral Home with burial in Hillside Cemetery, both in Ormond Beach.
Calling hours at Haigh-Black Funeral Home will be Monday afternoon and evening.
