SUN CITY —— James Lyna Bagwell, 81, died Monday, July 18, 2005, at Sun City Convalescent.

Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Austin, Miss., he lived in Sun City for 15 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1947, during World War II. He was the owner and operator of a florist shop for 20 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis in Long Beach, a past president of the Lions Club in Canyon Lake and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Bagwell is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lorraine Bagwell of Sun City; sons Jim Bagwell of Durango, Colo., and Mike Bagwell of Menifee; daughter, Nitia Walters of Las Vegas; sister, Joey Bledsoe of Leisure World in Seal Beach; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. today, July 20, at Sun City Bible Church with the Rev. Bob King officiating. Private interment at Riverside National Cemetery is planned.

Cremation Society of Riverside County is handling arrangements.
