Eastland, TX -- Joy Williams, 78, of Eastland passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in Dallas. Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Eastland with Dr. Shawn Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at the Eastland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.
Joy was born July 16, 1932 in De Leon, TX to Arthur and Annie (Morgan) Grimes. Joy graduated from De Leon High School. She married Floyd Williams May 29, 1950 in Rockwall, TX. They lived in San Diego while Floyd was in the Navy. They later moved to Eastland, in 1964, where they made their home. Joy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eastland, where she was very active. Joy worked for Hollywood Vassarette and retired from Weight Watchers. Joy loved to cook, sew, play dominoes and wahoo. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; four brothers;
and one son-in-law, Larry Pierce.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Williams; daughters, Judy Meritia Williams Beskow and husband Randy of Lake Charles, LA, Joy Anna Pence and husband Ronny of Cisco, Carolyn Jean Limmer and husband Alvin of Plano, Janet Lynn Halliday and husband Neil of Irving; grandchildren, Shane Pierce and wife Carrie, Kelley Diane O'Bannion and husband Michael, Jami Arnold and husband Scotty, David Limmer, Clay Pence and wife Laney, Jon Beskow and wife Tina, Sara Limmer and Erica Stover and husband Kris; 21 great-grandchildren and one due in December.
