April 29, 1919 Stephens Co., Ga. daughter of Russell and Mary Yarbrough Banks. James Knox Acree came to Haberhsam Co. (now Stephens) from Banks Co. in 1877. he became a prominent farmer and a leader in all community activities. When Stephens County was formed in 1906. he was one of the first members of the County Board of Education and also was a members of the county's firs Democratic Committee. he was a loyal member of Tate's Creek Baptist Church and was a Deacon and Supt. of the Sunday School. The children of James K. and Nancy Acree were: 6-1 James R.; 6-2 William Thomas; 6-3 Mary Catherine; 6-4 George Allen; 6-5 Young Davis; 6-6 Ada Augusta; 6-7 Sally Evelyn; 6-8 Henry Lumpkin; 6-9 Retha Jane; 6-10 Hershel Cobb; 6-11 Gladys.
