John Feldmann, prominent local resident for many years, passed away at his home Friday May 10, 1929 after a long illness.

He was born on April 13, 1860, in Town Rhine, where he was married on October 2, 1888, to Miss Julia Uhl. They resided on a homestead in Town Rhine until they moved to Elkhart Lake.

Mr. Feldmann has served in various official capacities in this village, among them being village marshall, street commissioner and deputy sheriff.

Besides his wife Julia, Mr. Feldmann is survived by three children, Helwig Feldmann of Sheldon, Mrs. Linda Bartelt of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Sylvia Jugenheimer of Kiel; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Weiskopf of Plymouth, Caroline Goldammer-Gerhardt of Elkhart Lake, and one brother, Jacob Feldmann of Brainerd, Minnesota. A brother and two sisters prededed him in death.

For many years he was an active member of the local camp Modern Woodmen of America, officers and members of which will assist in his funeral which will be held next Tuesday at 1:30 at the home, and 2 p.m. in the Evangelical church, the Rev. Carl Nagel officiating.
