Services Scheduled
Services for William Loyd Burks, 83, Tyler, formerly of Rusk, Bullard and Jacksonville, are scheduled of 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson Funeral HOme chapel in Jacksonville with the Rev. Matt Idom officiating.
Burial will be in the Bullard Cemetery.
Mr. Burks died Tuesday in a Tyler hospital.
He was born Aug. 18, 1911, in Bullard and lived in Tyler since 1972. Mr. Burks was a retired nurse from Rusk State Hospital and was a Baptist. He was a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, Sons of the American Revolution and the East Texas Genealogical Society.
Survivors include one son, Michael Burks , Longview,; two daughters, Saundra Burks Montgomery, Fowlerton, and Robyn Burks Rogers, Tyler; two sisters, Ethelyn Tillery, Tyler, and Gertrude Bickerstaff, Bullard; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bill Bickerstaff, David Bickerstaff, Gene Bickerstaff, Rick Coughran, Randy Waddle and Michael Burks.
