Ronald P. Higdon, 60, of South Bend, formerly of Lafayette, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 12, 1945, in Britt, Iowa.
Mr. Higdon had resided in Lafayette for 14 years prior to moving to South Bend 15 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Sinkiewicz Higdon; two sons, Patrick Higdon of Rensselaer, N.Y., and Jeffrey Higdon of South Bend; his father, Paul Higdon of Granger; and three sisters, Linda Bennett and Janell Miller, both of South Bend, and Joan Godfrey of Lakeville.
Services are Monday in South Bend.

South Bend - Ronald P. Higdon, 60, of Greenacre, died Tuesday in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center of natural causes. Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Patrick Higdon of Rensselaer, N.Y., and Jeffrey of South Bend; his father, Paul Higdon of Granger; and three sisters, Linda Bennett and Janell Miller, both of South Bend, and Joan Godfrey of Lakeville. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and a Masonic service will be at 7:30 p.m.

Ronald Paul Higdon, 60, of Greenacre, South Bend, passed away at 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.
He was born on April 12, 1945, in Britt, Iowa, to Paul and Daisy (Fillenwarth) Higdon. His mother, Daisy Higdon, preceded him in death. On August 31, 1968, in St. Adalbert Church, Ronald married Linda Sinkiewicz.
Surviving Ronald is his wife, Linda; father, Paul Higdon of Granger; sons, Patrick (Kimberly) Higdon of Rensselaer, New York, and Jeffrey Higdon of South Bend; grandchildren, Ashley, Julia Rose and Madeline; and sisters, Linda (Larry) Bennett of South Bend, Joan (Mike) Godfrey of Lakeville, Indiana and Janell (Steve) Miller of South Bend.
Ronald was an information service coordinator for the Center for Hospice & Palliatve Care. He was a past master of Lafayette Lodge #123 and Portage Lodge #675 F&AM, as well as current member of Scottish Rite and a 32nd degree Mason. He enjoyed bowling, and he had attended the Indianapolis 500 every year since he was nine years old. Ronald was an assistant scout master in his son's troop for over 12 years and influenced the lives of dozens of young men.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 31 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Masonic service will be at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 1, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
