W.M. HASTY DEAD.
The Funeral Will be Held Saturday Afternoon.
W.M. Hasty died at the home of his son, W.E. Hasty, 418 West First Street about 10:00 today, aged 69 years.
Mr. Hasty had been in feeble health for some time; he was afflicted with dropsy of the heart and Brights disease. He made a home with his son. This morning he arose for a change of clothing and died very shortly after retiring to his bed.

Mr. Hasty leaves a wife and six children. He had served in the army. He came to Kansas from Kentucky about 20 years ago and to Ottawa some three years since. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, from the first St. residence, under G.A.R. auspices. The services will be conducted by Rev. A.R. Maclean. Interment in Hope Cemetery.

On August 20, 1863, Pvt. Hasty enlisted with Co. I 40th Infantry and served until the end of the war. According to the Kansas, U.S., Enrollment of Civil War Veterans, 1889 for Wesley W. Hasty, Pvt. Hasty contracted typhoid fever.
