Funeral services for Eddie Waller Barclay, 88, of Colorado City were scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church with Rev. Kevin Anderson officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery in Prairie Lea, Texas at 6 p.m. Saturday under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home, Inc.
Mrs. Barclay died March 16, 1995 at Mitchell County Hospital.
She was born December 30, 1906 in Fentress, Texas. She married Roy William Barclay on August 2, 1929 in San Antonio. He died February 9, 1975.
Mrs. Barclay had been a resident of Colorado City since 1981. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the First Christian Church in Colorado City. She was active in AARP, Business and Professional Women, Wallace Center, Daughters of the American Revolution, Retired Teachers Assoc., the Looney Club, Christian Women's Fellowship, the Basic Club and Eastern Star.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Barclay of Iola, Kansas and Ralph Barclay of Chanute, Kansas; two daughters, Barbara Cunningham of College Station and Anna Staats of Colorado City; one brother, Robert Waller of Austin; two sisters, Elizabeth Alsip and Ethel Waller of San Antonio; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
