Services for Vara B. (Tatta) Keane, 80, will be a 5 pm today at the First Baptist Church of Alpine with the Rev. Bruce Lambert, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery under direction of Johnson's Funeral Home of San Angelo. She died at 2:10 am Friday at Baptist Memorials Geriatric Center. Mrs. Keane was born April 1, 1899 in Uvalde. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alpine and had been employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Alpine, retiring in 1964. She moved to San Angelo in 1974. Survivors include one son, Anthony J. "Andy" Keane of San Angelo; four grandchildren, James Keane of McAllen, Charles Keane, Vara O'Neal and Paul Keane, all of San Angelo; one sister, Mrs. H. H. Weyerts of Alpine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
