Born in Sun Prairie, the former Sybil Cobb had lived in Madison since 1920. She was employed as a clerk by the State Dept. of Public Welfare. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband, William R. Welch Sr.; a son, William R. Welch Jr., 2106 Sunnyside Crescent; two brothers, Oliver Cobb of Zeypher Hills, FL and Leon Cobb of DeForest; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sun Prairie.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr., where the rosary will be recited at 8 tonight.
