6-YEAR-OLD BOY IS MENINGITIS VICTIM

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Wilson, North of Traer, Succumbs to Disease After Eleven-Day Battle
Joseph West Wilson, 6-year- old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Wilson, two miles north of Traer, died Tuesday morning at the Fred Wilson home, northeast of town, of spinal meningitis. The. lad’s critical illness, which began when his parents were in South Dakota on a vacation trip, was noted in last week’s Star-Clipper. He fought a determined battle for eleven days, and at times it appeared he might recover, but he finally succumbed to the disease which in the form in which he was afflicted is nearly always fatal. A brief funeral service was held at the grave in Buckingham cemetery Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. H. O. Allen, local Congregational pastor.

Joseph was the second child and the first son of Jarvis and Nellie Wilson and was born March 25, 1924. He always enjoyed the best of health until his last and fatal illness and was a child of loving disposition and active mind. He was a pupil in the first grade of the Kober school, near his home last year. Besides his parents, he leaves two sisters—Emma Jean, 7 years old, and Isabel, 3, besides ono brother, Allan, who is not yet 2 years old. Grandparents and many relatives likewise survive.
