William Edward Brewer, 2nd
Son and fifth child of John and Deliah
Blair Brewer. Died July 12, 1940.
He lived in Ohio until he was 23 and
came to Republic County, Kansas in 1886.
He was married to Minnie Mae Dutton
Oct 6, 1897 at Concordia, and to them
were born eight children. Three have
passed on. An infant daughter in 1898,
a son, Clarence Duane in 1921 and the
eldest daughter Mary, last December.
He worked at his trade and later
farmed extensively until ill health
caused him to retire. He had been
ill for several months.
His wife lies critically ill at their
daughters home in Santa Monica,
Cal.
He was one of a family of 11
Children. Surviving in the immediate
family are his wife and these children:
Eva of Santa Monica, CA, Lilly Schultz
Of Appleton City, MO, Bill of Norway,
Harry and Ada of the home. Three half-
brothers preceeded him in death: Denton,
John and Joseph, also two sisters, Anne
and Belie and a brother Fredrick. These
Bbothers and sisters survive; Owen of Formoso,
Jesse of Burr Oak, Peter of Concordia, Mrs.
Millie Dickerhoof of Courtland, Mrs Lillie
Raymond of Elk City, Mrs. Ida Myers of
Tioga, IL
Funeral services were held at the home and
at the E U B Church Sunday afternoon
with the Rev. Wade Hampton of Concordia
in charge. Burial was made in the family
lot in Valley Cemetery three miles south
of Norway.
