A daughter of Arline Junior Roberts Weaver, and the late Emmett E. Roberts, she was born on Aug. 19, 1926, in Claiborne County, Ala., and had been making her home in Verona for the past 57 years.
Mrs. Manning had been employed by Western State Hospital for 32 years, and was a member of the Verona United Methodist Church and the Staunton Moose Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her husband and friend, James Lee Manning Sr.; a son, James Lee Manning Jr.; and granddaughter, Amy Michelle Graham.
In addition to her mother of Braxton County, W.Va., she is survived by three daughters, Nancy Graham of Waynesboro, Judy Morris and husband, Ryland, of Franklinton, N.C., and Carol Stuart-Kosak and husband, Eddie, of Verona; four grandchildren, Kevin Graham and his fiancée Shawn Lambert, Tim Graham, Celeste of North Carolina, Jo Beth Stuart and Evan Stuart; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 23, 2006, from Augusta Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Richard A. "Dick" Daily officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the AMC Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 215, Fishersville, Va., 22939.
