Bobby Eugene Jeffers, 67, of the Straight Fork community, passed away May 9, 2004, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. Born August 18, 1936, he was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Linda Byrd Jeffers; and brothers: Oda, Ronda, Ora, Orlando, and Walter Jeffers. He served his country in the 1st Battalion, 325 Infantry, Third United States Army and with the 82nd Airborne. He is survived by one brother, Ova Jeffers and wife, Maude, of the Straight Fork community; sisters: Rita Norris of Georgia, Edith Lay, Erma Silcox, and Jeannett Lawson and husband, Shirley, all of the Straight Fork community; numerous nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted May 11, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Carlie Duncan officiating. Interment was conducted in Fairview Cemetery.
