Lee P. "Buddy" Trexler, 92, Kutztown, formerly of Topton, passed away Nov. 13, 2010, in his residence.
He was the widower of Amy M. (Bond) Trexler. Born in Topton, he was a son of the late Robert G. and Mabel (Matz) Trexler. He was a graduate of William Allen High School and a 1946 graduate of Lafayette College.

He was the general manager of the former Trexler's Self Service Grocery Store, Topton. Later, he worked in heavy equipment and highway safety for Hadden Steel and O.W. Hubbell Co., retiring in 1983. He was instrumental in 1948 in forming and served as the head of the Topton Ambulance; served as chief and assistant chief of the Topton Volunteer Fire Company; was a member and served as past commander of the Topton American Legion Post 217 in 1948; and was a member of the Kutztown Fire Company, the Lyons Fire Company and the Kutztown Rod and Gun Club.

He honorably served his country in the Army as a surgical nurse in a MASH Unit during World War II in the European-Middle East- African campaigns, earning four Bronze Service Stars.

Survivors include daughter, Amy Lee, wife of Terry Lindenmuth, Kutztown; grandchildren: Gabriel R. Trexler, Kapolei, HI; Matthew L. Lindenmuth, Kutztown; and Katelyn A. Lindenmuth, Reno, NV; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Trexler, Mohnton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Robert P. "Bob-Bob" Trexler; sister, Annabelle T. Goll; and grandson, Jeremy L. Trexler. A private graveside service with military honors will be held in Topton Union Cemetery. Schantz Funeral Home Inc., Emmaus, is in charge of arrangements.
