Evart (Everett) was the son of Arthur James Yakes and Daisy Grundy Robison Yakes. He eloped with his sweetheart, Evelyn Schmidt in 1927 and by 1931, they had three beautiful children.

Evart was a pilot during WWII with the Civil Air Patrol. Through his working years, he at times flew planes and helicopters for his job. He worked for Goodyear tire, various mining companies and in the 1960's owned and operated a gold mine in California.

He is buried in this Cemetery next to his second wife, Mary Deloria Berger.
