Fred Morse was my father-in-law. Lucille was his second wife. She was the mother of my husband. Fred had two children by his first wife, Augusta; Royal and Alice. By his second wife, he had six more children, Frida, Ronald, Gary, Darrell, Edward and Joy. He lost an eye as a young man helping to organize the union for the railroad industry. Later, he worked as a framer in the construction business. Because of the huge difference in age between himself and his wife Lucy, they had a stormy, tempestuous relationship and they later divorced. Although he had been a harsh, stern disciplinarian in keeping with his Victorian upbringing, he mellowed in his later years, and became a Christian and was a changed man. He passed away before I had the opportunity to meet him, but I look forward to meeting him in heaven.
